C S TY O F' C E NT E RV S L L E <br /> PARK AND R E C R EAT S ON COMM S TT E E <br /> MINUTES <br /> March 5, 1997 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee of the City of Centerville held their regularly <br /> scheduled meeting on March 5, 1997. Meeting was called to order <br /> at 6:50 PM. Members present : Rick Thompson, Mike Navin, Kevin <br /> Fogarty. Members absent Dale Larson, Nancy Johnson. Staff <br /> present : Jim March. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> A motion was made by Thompson, seconded by Fogarty to approve the <br /> February 5, 1997 with corrections. Motion carried. <br /> APPEARANCES : <br /> Jim March, Clerk /Administrator update: Mr. March presented the <br /> committee -with a colored exhibit that was prepared by the City <br /> Engineer. Mr. March also presented the committee with a letter <br /> from the City Engineer that discusses the cost of completing a <br /> topographic survey for LaMotte Park as not to exceed $2,280. The <br /> survey could be completed in the spring. <br /> Mr. March also noted that the City Attorney has been instructed <br /> to review how the City had acquired the approximately two acres <br /> known as Cedar Street Park. The City may wish to dispose of this <br /> property in the future. <br /> Mr. March explained he had discussions with Anoka County Parks <br /> Director and that there may be a possibility of a paved trail <br /> running through the Rice Creek Regional Park around the south <br /> side of Centerville Lake and into the LaMotte Park. <br /> NORTH METRO UPDATE : <br /> Mr. Thompson attended the North Metro meeting and that it appears <br /> that not much progress has been made. Lino Lakes is working on a <br /> proposal for the next meeting of North Metro. <br /> April Agenda : <br /> 1) Set a public hearing date for LaMotte Park Development <br /> 2) Formulate letters of solicitation of funds from sporting <br /> groups, civic groups, etc... <br /> 3) Brainstorm ideas for fundraising <br /> Meeting adjourned 7:50 PM. <br /> Submitted by, Kevin Fogarty <br />
