Mayor Wilharber requested a carbon copy of the letter be sent to the City of Hugo. <br /> Union Contract - <br /> Councilmember Powers - Rasmussen asked for clarification on the paid and not paid holidays in the <br /> union contract. Mr. March explained the ten paid holidays on the list. Further, employees are <br /> required to take vacation pay on the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Mr. March <br /> received comments from Mr. Hellings. He said the contract met with all legal requirements and <br /> met with his approval and annotations. Councilmember Helmbrecht asked if there will be any <br /> change with full -time and part-time employees. Mr. March responded there will be no change to <br /> the status of full -time and part-time. <br /> MOTION by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Mayor Wilharber to approve the union draft <br /> contract changes between the City of Centerville and the local union. Clarifying, the city only <br /> accepts the sentences stating that the $150 and $300 are only applicable to benefits when the cost <br /> of single or family health care has not met the threshold of the mentioned amounts. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Crack Filling - <br /> Mr. March reiterated the request letter from Mr. Paul Palzer, Building Official/Public Works <br /> Director recommending entering into a three -year contract with Bergmann for crack filling. <br /> MOTION by Councilmember Powers- Rasmussen, seconded by Councilmember Brenner to <br /> accept the proposal as per the letter dated March 4, 1997 from Bergmann for street crack filling <br /> for three years at the rates specified in letter. Motion carried. <br /> National Night Out - <br /> Mayor Wilharber referred to a letter received from Cindy Elofson, Cir/Lex Police Department, <br /> indicating the National Night Out is August 5, 1997. Mayor Wilharber commented Centerville <br /> was not active last year, however the Police Department would like to see the city be active this <br /> year. Councilmember Helmbrecht commented the other cities have full -time employees <br /> promoting the neighborhood watch whereas the City of Centerville does not have a full time <br /> employee. Mayor Wilharber commented a Community Service Officer is one of the things the <br /> City will be looking at when renewing the police contract.. <br /> Lions Club - <br /> Mayor Wilharber reported he will be speaking at the Lions Meeting March 13, in Hugo.
