MEMO <br /> DATE : April 3, 1997 <br /> TO Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM : Jim March <br /> RE M.S. Society Charitable Gambling Funds <br /> The M.S. Society charitable gambling fund has over $4700 in the <br /> account as of January 1, 1997. The first quarter proceeds for <br /> 1997 have not been added to the total as of yet. The M.S. <br /> Society would like the City to spend the funds or commit the <br /> funds to specific future projects. This will allow them to keep <br /> their accounting system in order and maintain compliance with the <br /> State. Some potential eligible projects could be paving trails <br /> in the new park extension, handicap accessible restrooms in a <br /> senior housing project or new public works building. We will <br /> discuss this issue further at the meeting. <br />
