CENTERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY August 19,1997 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Centerville Economic <br /> Development Committee held their regular scheduled meeting on <br /> Hugust 19, 1997. Chairperson Tim Rehbine called the meeting to <br /> order at 7:15 P.M. Present: John Magill, Dan Tourville, " fheresa <br /> Brenner, Mary Capra (V:40 P.M.). absent: Paul Montain. <br /> Hpproval of July 1997 Minutes <br /> Motion by Tim Rehbine to approve the July 1997 meeting minutes, <br /> second by John Magill. Mary Capra: Hye, Dan TOUrVille: Hbstaln. <br /> Downtown Revi <br /> Tim Rehbine discussed approving the sub— committee and letting the <br /> City Council and other committees aware of what this committee is <br /> working on. They would like to see more members .join them on <br /> this project. It would helpful to get a mix of members from <br /> other committees and residents. <br /> Theresa Brenner stated that any money that they feel would be <br /> needed for this project for things such as consulting fees, <br /> architects, feasibility studies, etc. for 1906 would need to be <br /> approved by the City Council now as they are working on next <br /> years budget. <br /> Dan Tourville thought we should contact the Mn Design Team and <br /> get an update on information and prices. Theresa Brenner will <br /> contact the MN Design Team and get some updated information and <br /> pricing. Tim Rehbine will contact a couple independent architects <br /> for quotes to compare with. <br /> Motion to approve the Downtown Revitalization Sub — Committee by <br /> John Magill. Second by Mary Capra. Ali in favor. <br /> Theresa Brenner stated that she would like to be a member of this <br /> committee. John Magill agreed to be there on an as needed basis. <br /> Theresa Brenner will make the Council aware that this committee <br /> may be asking for 'b 20,000.00 for this project at the councils <br /> next budget meeting. <br /> Star City Goals and Obiectives <br /> - Theresa Brenner stated she will be updating the business <br /> Directory for 1998. There will be a notice in the next newsletter- <br /> to find more home based businesses to add to the list. <br /> Mary Capra updated the committee on the progress of the Welcome <br /> Neighbor Packets. The business owners have started getting some <br /> coupons back and the residents have seemed pleased with the <br /> packet. She will check with the businessowners to see it they <br /> felt the pilot project was successful. She may also send out a <br />
