December 5, 1997 To Tim Yantos Tom Dillon From: Mary Beth Davis Regarding; Leasing Status of Chauncey Barett Gardens As of 12/1/97 12 of the units for Chauncey Barett Gardens are reserved, (We had fornterly reserved 13 of the units, but the couple who had reserved unit 102 canceled due to the husband's recent death.) I am also scheduled to meet with a gentleman next week who has expressed serious interest in a one bedroom unit, but was able to attend our reservation day, I have placed another couple on a wait list for a one bedroom/den, of which Nye have no more. As you may recall, the reservation process allows prospective tenants to actually choose the apartment that they will live in and to have that apartment held for them. They sign the attached reservation form and give us a 8200 deposit on the unit. They care cancel with a full refund anytime up until 60 days from when the building opens. When we are 60 days from opening we will ask each of these persons to make formal application and to sign a one year lease for their unit that will be effective on June I, 1998, At this point they are fully committed to moving in. If they choose not to sign a lease at this tittle their $200 will be refunded and the apartment will be placed back on the market. Just for your information, our current list of prospective residents includes nine couples, one widow, and two widowers. Half of the applicants are from the city of Centerville. Other applicants came fi om Huge (2), St Paul, Mirmeapolis, Circle Pines and Coon Rapids. Two Oft Ile people who are not frown Centerville have children who reside there, I will be meeting with $die Lancaster the week on 12/8 to develop some additional marketing strategies, including some print advertising in the Quad Community Press.
