Council meeting was moved to Monday, December 22 at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> * At the EDC meeting Tuesday night, Theresa Brenner was elected <br /> "Citizen of the Year ", and Paul Montain was elected "Business <br /> Person of the Year ". Congratulations to both! The MN Design <br /> Team application is planned to be mailed during the beginning <br /> of January 1998. <br /> * Robert Westerlund passed his pre - employment physical and we <br /> are awaiting the results of his drug screening. We anticipate <br /> his full -time status to begin on January 5, 1998. <br /> * We have lost our intern. Troy accepted a position with the <br /> City of Caledonia. He anticipates starting with his new <br /> position in early January. Everyone wish Troy the best of <br /> luck with his career. He did a fine job with his internship <br /> here. <br /> * The request for proposal document for engineering services was <br /> reviewed at the Wednesday workshop. A copy has been placed in <br /> the bins for those who could not attend. The direction was to <br /> have staff contact communities in Anoka County to see the <br /> satisfaction levels of those communities with their <br /> engineering service providers. This information will be <br /> available at the first January Council meeting. <br /> * A meeting was held on Thursday morning with representatives <br /> from the City, H.R. Green, Rice Creek Watershed District, Lino <br /> Lakes, TKDA, Gerald Rehbein and Montgomery Watson in <br /> attendance. The meeting was to discuss the potential <br /> development along 21st Avenue, floodplain issues and items in <br /> our surface water management plan. A meeting has been <br /> scheduled for next week Tuesday with representatives from Lino <br /> Lakes to discuss the water interconnect and joint powers <br /> agreements. <br /> * I hope everyone enjoys Happy Holidays! <br />
