r' <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> NOVEMBER 4, 1997 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of <br /> Centerville held their regularly scheduled meeting on November 4, 1997 in the Council Chambers, <br /> at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. Chairperson Kathy Welk called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Chairperson Kathy Welk <br /> Commission Members: Tina Vermeulen <br /> A] LaMotte <br /> Linda Broussard- Vickers <br /> STAFF /CONSULTANTS: City Administrator Jim March <br /> ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss <br /> OPENING <br /> Interview Candidates for the Planning Commission VacancX <br /> Mr. John Buckbee (7381 Peltier Circle) addressed the Commission and voiced reasons why he <br /> would like to be considered for the Planning Commission vacancy. Mr. Buckbee has served in <br /> the past as a planning and zoning member and has served on the Council. Also, Mr. Buckbee <br /> served as the Centerville Mayor. Mr. Buckbee noted his past experience provides a solid base to <br /> make educated decisions. <br /> Ms. Clara Iyde (7193 W. Robin Lane) addressed the Commission and expressed reason why she <br /> is interested in filling the Planning Commission vacancy. Ms. Iyde explained once she heard of <br /> the vacancy she jumped at the chance to serve the community. Furthermore, she has lived in the <br /> community for serval years. Ms. Iyde noted she likes development. <br /> Ms. Norma Essex (7333 Old Mill Road) addressed the Commission and indicated reason to fill <br /> the Planning Commission vacancy. Ms. Essex plans to live in the community for a long time and <br /> she would like to contribute to the community. Also, she moved to Centerville because she liked <br /> the small town atmosphere. Ms. Essex commented planning now affects the City's future. <br /> Furthermore, she would like to make sure the City does not grow too rapidly and felt building <br /> homes should slow down. In addition, Ms. Essex stated the City needs more businesses. <br /> The Commission explained to the candidates once a decision has been made the City will notify <br /> the candidates by mail. <br /> 1 <br />
