Other Proiects:
I noticed in several areas there are plats that have dead end streets. Besides the fact the Fire
Codes requires a turnaround on a dead -end longer than 150 feet, I feel it creates some real safety
hazards. Any time that you have to backup a fire truck, a snow plow, a school bus, or even a
private car, your chances of hitting something or someone is greatly increased. The practice of
allowing these dead -end streets without cul -de -sac could possibly get the city into a legal situation
if some accident happened that was caused by a vehicle backing out of one of these dead ends. I
know that the builders don't want to give up any land for the cul -de -sac, but the builders are gone
in short time and the citizens and the city is left with the roads that were installed either properly
or improperly.
Summary:
I hope that this letter helps you with these issue's and I appreciate the opportunity to comment.
Whatever decisions the city makes regarding some of these issue's the Centennial Fire District will
continue to serve to the best of our ability.
Sincerely,
Milo Bennett
Centennial Fire Chief
CC.
