City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting <br />August 24, 2011 <br /> <br />VIII.NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Demolition of 1688 Sorel Street Structure – Sauter & Sons, Inc. ~ ($9,000) <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that a bid was provide by Sauter & Sons, Inc. in the amount <br />of $9,000 for demolition of the home. This contractor is the same contractor that the <br />County is utilizing for the demolition of their two homes on Main Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that previous discussion was had regarding the use of the <br />building by the Centennial Fire Department for firefighter training; however, that is not <br />feasible due to the very close proximity of surrounding structures. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member King, to approve <br />the bid from Sauter & Sons, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $9,000 for the <br />demolition of the residence at 1688 Sorel Street. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Res. #11-014 – Authorizing Closing of Fund ~ 2009 Street & Utility <br />Improvement <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that this is standard practice to close a construction fund to <br />the debt service fund after construction is complete. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Res. #11-014 – Authorizing Closing of Fund ~ 2009 Street & Utility Improvement as <br />presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Planning & Zoning Commission Decision & Conclusions – Ord. #XX, Second <br />Series City Code Chapter 156 ~ (Rezoning Parcel #R23-31-22-22-0003 & R23- <br />31-22-22-0008 from R-2 to M-2) – Realignment w/2030 Comp. Plan <br />3. Planning & Zoning Commission Decision & Conclusions – Ord. #47, Second <br />Series City Code Chapter 156, Section 156.310 ~ Variances <br /> <br />Administrator Larson explained that recently the Legislature modified variance <br />requirements and the City’s Code needs to align with the new requirements. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to <br />approve Planning & Zoning’s Decision & Conclusions as stated and that Ord. #47, <br />Second Series City Code Chapter 156, Section 156.310 ~ Variances be adopted. All <br />in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Ord. #48, Second Series – Rezoning Certain Property in Order to Make the <br />Official Zoning Map Conform to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission considered all areas <br />of concern and are presenting them to Council as a whole for ease of publication and <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />
