CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> ORDINANCE # <br /> SECOND SERIES <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE AUTHORIZING PERMITS FOR USE <br /> OF SPECIAL VEHICLES ON CITY STREETS, <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1. The City Code is hereby amended by inserting a new Chapter 73 as follows: <br /> CHAPTER 73 - REGULATING SPECIAL VEHICLES ON ROADWAYS <br /> 73.01 Intent. The city intends to permit the operation of all- terrain vehicles, mini <br /> trucks, or utility task vehicles on designated roadways or portions thereof under the <br /> jurisdiction of the city, and under the powers granted to the city pursuant to Minnesota <br /> Statute Section 169.045. Authorization to operate these vehicles is by permit only. <br /> 73.02 Definitions. Unless the context indicates otherwise, the following terms have the <br /> meanings stated: <br /> (A) Special Vehicles <br /> (1) "Mini truck" is specifically defined by Minnesota Statutes Section <br /> 169.011, subdivision 40a <br /> (2) "Utility task vehicle" is specifically defined by Minnesota Statute <br /> Section 169.011, subdivision 40a. <br /> (3) "All terrain vehicle" is specifically defined by Minnesota Statute <br /> Section 84.92, subdivision 8. <br /> (B) Streets. "Streets" means any street, highway, <br /> avenue, alley, or other public right of way within the jurisdiction of the city, including the <br /> entire right of way. <br /> 73.03 Special Vehicle Use on Streets <br /> (A) Designation of roadway, permit. The city does authorize by permit the <br /> operation of all- terrain vehicles, mini trucks, and utility task vehicles on all streets in the <br /> city. Permits may be granted for a period of not to exceed three years, and may be <br /> renewed. A permit may be revoked at any time if there is evidence that the permittee <br /> cannot safely operate the vehicle. There shall be at the time of filling out the application a <br /> 31 <br />
