crowds of 200 - 250 people for every show. Come out and seeing what is causing all the
excitement.
In January and February of 2012, the Centerville Parks and Recreation Committee will
once again hold a skating party at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. On at least one of the
two occasions, there will also be a free hay ride. Almost all events are accompanied by
popcorn and hot chocolate.
Park Programs are managed by Centerville's all volunteer Parks and Recreation
Committee. There are volunteer opportunities for individuals or organizations that desire
to see Centerville thrive by providing park amenities and programs alike. Come and join
the Committee or perhaps your organization would like to take ownership of a community
project. Over the past two years, the City has benefited from three Eagle Scout projects.
These projects have installed bird houses, planted trees and installed the new City flag
pole and veterans memorial at Comer Stone Park. We also want to add trail signs and
park benches between the county trail and Centerville Lake. The goal is to make modest
park improvements without using tax dollars. Perhaps a garden club, master gardener,
church group, Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop could adopt a park and keep it clean and
weeded.
Those interested in volunteering should contact Pat Branch, the Parks and Recreation
Committee Chairperson.
