Hearing <br /> none. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love, to <br /> approve the September 28, 2011 City Council Meeting Minutes as presented. All in <br /> favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> V. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 1. City of Centerville September 28, 2011 through October 12, 2011 Claims (Check <br /> #26733 -26764 & (Check #26765- 26777) <br /> 2. Centennial Lakes Police Department Claims through September 27, 2011 (Check <br /> #8603 -8627) <br /> 3. Proclamation — Homelessness Awareness Month <br /> 4. Parks & Recreation Committee Recommendation to Secure Equipment from NRI <br /> to Place An Aluminum Can Collection Unit @ Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park — <br /> No Expense, Trial Basis <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love, to <br /> approve the Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> VI. AWARDS /PRESENTATIONS /APPEARANCES <br /> 1. Mr. Dan Huffman, Business Director, Centennial School District (Overview of <br /> District & Proposed Levy) <br /> Mayor Wilharber welcomed Mr. Huffman to the meeting. Mr. Huffman thanked Council <br /> for the opportunity to address them. Mr. Huffman stated that the School District is <br /> placing an operating levy referendum on the 2011 ballot for voter consideration. Mr. <br /> Huffman briefly reviewed the District's intent of the levy by stating that it would <br /> authorize a $275 per pupil increase in operating levy which would generate <br /> approximately an additional $1.8 million annually for a four year period beginning 2012- <br /> 13. Mr. Huffinan stated that if the question is defeated, significant reductions would <br /> occur in the spring of 2012. Mr. Huffman explained that the referendum would be for <br /> operations and classrooms, (current programs, student services, curriculum, textbooks <br /> and technology) not building- related. Mr. Huffman stated that it is the intent of the <br /> School District to engage the community in discussions regarding the future of the <br /> District and directions that can be made to strengthen the District and provide enriched <br /> educational opportunities that will assist in retaining and attracting enrollment. <br /> 2. Mr. Kenneth A. Tolzmann, SAMA — City Assessor — Contract Renewal <br /> Mr. Tolzman addressed Council and briefly reviewed his original contract with the City <br /> and stated he is requsting a three year extension of that contract with the same services <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> 2 <br />
