Centerviffe, :M:N 55038 <br />f}:,stab{isfiecf 1857 STATE OF MINNESOTA (651)429-3232 · Pa.r.(651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #06 - 012 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING A CITY AGENT FOR PURPOSES OF SECURING <br />THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE'S INSURANCE THROUGH THE LMCIT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust requires cities to use the services of an <br />agent in order to participate in the LMCIT property/casualty program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the written materials from LMCIT <br />discussing the agent's role and compensation in LMCIT; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Paul H. Steffel has agreed to provide to the city the services listed below under the terms <br />and conditions listed. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Appointment. The City of Centerville hereby appoints Paul H. Steffel as its agent for purposes ofthe <br />City's participation in the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT) property/casualty and <br />workers compensation program [ s]. <br /> <br />Term. This appointment shall remain effective until February 28,2009. <br /> <br />Compensation. As compensation for the services provided to the City as described in Paragraph 4 <br />below, the City will pay to the agent a fee of $700 annually. The City hereby directs LMCIT not to <br />include any allowance for an agent's fee in quoting and billing the City's premiums for property, <br />liability, and automotive coverage and to refund the 2% workers compensation coverage agent fee <br />allowance to the City. <br /> <br />Services. The agent will perform the following services: <br /> <br />a. Advise and assist the City in assembling and accurately reporting underwriting data, including <br />updating property values, for rating purposes. <br /> <br />b. Assisting with the completion of the renewal questionnaire and assembling information at annual <br />renewal and transmitting the same to the LMCIT. <br /> <br />c. Review coverage documents and invoices to assure coverage has been correctly issued and <br />billed. <br /> <br />d. Advise the City on potential gaps or overlaps in coverage. <br />
