BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> DATE: October 25, 2011 RESOLUTION #2011 -125 <br /> OFFERED BY COMMISSIONER: Sivarajah <br /> REQUEST FOR SPEED ZONE STUDY ON <br /> CSAH 14 (MAIN STREET) FROM MILL ROAD <br /> TO 21 AVENUE IN THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners is responsible for the planning, <br /> construction, and maintenance of the county highway system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the recognition for the need to study legally - ordered speed zones on segments of the <br /> county highway system in response to changes in traffic patterns, adjoining development, and <br /> reconstruction of highways is a responsibility of the Anoka County Board of Commissioners; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this area has experienced increased residential /commercial development and traffic <br /> volumes; and, <br /> WHEREAS, officials in the city of Centerville are concerned with the speed of vehicles traveling <br /> on this portion of CSAH 14; and, <br /> WHEREAS, this portion of CSAH 14 has not had a speed zone study completed or requested <br /> since 2002; and, <br /> WHEREAS, officials within the city of Centerville have requested that a speed zone study be <br /> conducted; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the conducting of appropriate engineering studies and the establishment of safe and <br /> reasonable speed limits on segments of the county highway system is by statute the responsibility of the <br /> State Commissioner of Transportation: <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anoka County Board of Commissioners <br /> hereby requests the MInnesota Commissioner of Transportation to conduct the necessary studies and <br /> prepare orders for safe and reasonable speed limits on CSAH 14 (Main Street) from Mill Road to 21' <br /> Avenue in the city of Centerville. <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be forwarded to the <br /> Minnesota Commissioner of Transportation and the City of Centerville. <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA) Y ES NO <br /> COUNTY OFANOIC4 ) ss - <br /> 1, Jerry Soma, County Administrator, <br /> Anoka County, Minnesota, hereby certify that 1 DISTRICT #1 -LOOK Absent <br /> have compared the foregoing copy of the - <br /> resolution of the county board of said county <br /> with the original record thereof on file in the DISTRICT #2 - WESTERBERG X <br /> Administration Office, Anoka County, - <br /> Minnesota, as stated in the minutes of the <br /> proceedings of said board at a meeting duly held DISTRICT #3 - WEST X <br /> on October 25, 2011, and that the same is a true <br /> and correct copy of said original record and of <br /> the whole thereof, and that said resolution was DISTRICT #4 - KORDIAK X <br /> duly passed by said board at said meeting. - <br /> Wimess my hand and seal this 25th day <br /> of October 2011.
