Subsequently
those goals are in the comp plan.

These goals were to attempt to keep at least 68% of its ownership
housing affordable and at least 35% of its rental housing affordable.
In addition, it has a goal to increase the share of its housing that is
rental from 10% to 25%.

Given the forecasted growth for the city set forth in its comp plan,
and the baseline data as of 1995, this means goals that would represent
the addition of 162 new affordable ownership units, and the addition of
158 new rental units, 55 of which would be affordable.

Since 1996 the city has added 130 affordable ownership units and 16
affordable rental units.

Their goals will not change with more growth but the numbers those
goals might represent will ie, x% of a number is different than x% of a
different number.

To my knowledge, the city has never applied for any funding through the
LCA.

If there are any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Christy Stark
Planner
Metropolitan Council
230 East Fifth Street
St. Paul, MN 55101-1626
651-602-1750
fax: 651-602-1674
christine.stark@metc.state.mn.us

1
