Motion carried unanimous Iv. <br /> <br />V. A WARDSIPRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Centerville Lions <br /> <br />The Centerville Lions thanked the City for their support of the Festival and presented <br />Mayor Sweeney with a donation check in the amount of $500 for Parks and Recreation <br />from the shave the Mayor campaign. <br /> <br />The Lions requested that the City waive the fee for the temporary event liquor license for <br />the Phil Todd benefit event and indicated there would be a Lion membership event at <br />Chauncey Barrett Gardens on October 9, 2003. <br /> <br />Mr. John Thill provided Council with an accounting of the expenses from the 2003 <br />parade, as well as, a comparison of costs to the 2002 parade. He also indicated that it <br />would make organizing the event easier if they had walkie talkies for communicating <br />with parade volunteers and asked for permission to research the costs and provide a <br />report to Council for possible use of leftover funds to purchase walkie talkies. <br /> <br />Council agreed to hear any proposal on the walkie talkies and said they would like them, <br />if purchased, to be stored at Public Works for use as emergency communication during a <br />disaster. <br /> <br />Page 2 of9 <br /> <br />/ <br />
