Noise Level Table. <br /> <br />No person shall cause, or permit to be caused, any source of noise in such a manner as to create a <br />noise level exceeding the limits set forth below for the receiving land use category. <br />Residential: <br /> <br />Duration of Sound <br /> <br />Less than 10 minutes <br />Less than 2 hours <br /> <br />Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br />75db <br />70db <br /> <br />60db <br /> <br />10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. <br /> <br />60db <br />50db <br /> <br />40db <br /> <br />More than 2 hours <br /> <br />CommerciaIlIndustriallMixed Use: <br />Less than 10 minutes <br />Less than 2 hours <br />More than 2 hours <br /> <br />75db <br />70db <br />60 db <br /> <br />70db <br />60db <br />50db <br /> <br />The limits of the most restrictive district shall apply at the boundaries between different land use <br />designations. The determination ofland use shall be by its zoning designation. <br /> <br />Subdivision 2. Sounds ExemDt from Noise Level Requirements. <br /> <br />Sounds emanating from the operation of outdoor implements, such as power lawnmowers, <br />snowblowers, power hedge clippers, power saws, pile drivers, jackhammers, and other construction <br />equipment, are exempt from the sound level requirements but shall observe the time restriction <br />provisions of this subdivision <br /> <br />Subdivision 3. ExceDtions for SDecial Events. <br /> <br />The City Council shall have the authority, consistent with this section, to grant exceptions from the <br />requirements of any section of this ordinance for special events. Any person seeking an exception <br />shall file an application at City Hall with the City Clerk or his/her designee on a form prescribed by <br />the City. The application shall state the dates during which the application is proposed, the location <br />of the noise source and time of operation, the nature of the noise source, reasons why the exception <br />is sought, steps to be taken to minimi7.e the noise level, and such other information as is required by <br />the City. <br />
