The City has noticed that' you have a pool lOcated on your property at 7086 Progress Road. The City would like to inform you that there is an Ordinance in effect that requires that the pool is enclosed by a permanent wall or fence not less than six (6) feet in height with a self~losing door and self-closing latch. It appears that you may be in violation of the City's Ordinance #4. I have enclosed a copy of Section 100-040 pertaining to Swimming Pool Fencing for your ~eference. The City would like to remind you that swimming pools pose a danger to children, both your own and neighborhood children. The City has chosen to take a proactive approach to deterring potential pole related accidents by containing the above'stated language in the City's Ordinance. The City hopes that residents that chose to install pools on their property give consideration to safety, location, accessibility and dangers that owners of swimming pools are exposed to. The City does understand that summer-time activities are fun, but they should be safe for all. The City requests that you either limit the amount of water contained in your pool to the required level (depth not exceeding twenty-four (24) inches) or properly enclose it. Please contact myself or City Administrator, Ms. Kim Moore-Sykes at (651) 429-3232 with any questions or comments you may have. We expect this situation to be remedied within ten (10) days of receipt of this letter. Ifnot, ~nger enforcement measures will be employed.
