<br />/~ <br /> <br />t~~UL G ~ 200l <br /> <br />1747 Meadow Lane <br />Centerville, MN 55038 <br />July 1, 2003 <br /> <br />Dear Mayor and Members of the Centerville Council: <br /> <br />My name is Brian Nelson and I am responsible for the parking at St Genevieve's Parish <br />Picnic, which will be held August 17,2003. <br /> <br />Parking near the church and on Goiffon Road always seems to be a problem on this day. <br />I have contacted the Centennial Lakes Police Department to ensure that things run safely <br />and orderly that day. <br /> <br />Last year the church was permitted to close Goiffon Road from County Road 14 to Sorel <br />Street dUring the hours of.8:oo AM to 6:00 PM. Because this worked well, I am asking <br />fC:)1: permission to do so again this year. <br /> <br />Safety is always a concern. People often cross from one side of the road to the other, <br />since there are activities on both sides of the street In addition, traffic flow ensured <br />neighborhood protection. By closing off this section of Goiffon Road, safety was <br />increased. <br /> <br />The Park and Ride lot was used last year, and I also borrowed city barricades. This was <br />efficient and a great help to the success of our picnic. I hope that the parish may use the <br />barricades and utilize the Park and Ride again. <br /> <br />If closing the road during the picnic is feasible or if you have further questions for me <br />please contact me at home (651) 653-4324 or through St Genevieve's (651) 429-7937. <br />Thank you very much.
