<br />., <br /> <br />Effective: 8/1/78 <br />City ofCenterville Ord. #31 <br /> <br />STATE OF WNNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #31 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE :qCENSING AND BONDING OF <br />INDIVIDUALS, FIRMS, CORPORATIONS, CONTRACTORS AND <br />SUBCONTRACTORS DOING OR PERFORMING WORK. WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE AND PROVIDlNG PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City ofCenterville, Anoka County, Minnesota, ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the interest of the public and the residents of the City of Centerville <br />that any person, firm or corporation who engages in the business of building, construction <br />or related work, within the City of Centerville, as defined at Section 4 of this ordinance, <br />shall first secure a license therefore as provided herein. This ordinance shall not apply to <br />persons, firms or corporations who produce a product within the City of Centerville for <br />use outside of the City ofCenterville. <br /> <br />Application for said license shall be made to the City Clerk-Treasurer and such license <br />shall be granted upon filing with the City Clerk a bond in the amount of $5,000, <br />conditioned upon compliance with the provisions of City Ordinances and the filing with <br />the City Clerk, certificates evidencing the holding of Public Liability Insurance in the <br />limits of $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident or bodily injury and $50,000 for <br />property damages and certificates of Worker's Compensation Insurance as required by <br />law. Such insurance policies shall contain provisions that same may not be cancelled <br />without ten (10) days prior written notice thereofbeing mailed to the City ofCenterville. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The License fee shall be $25 annually. Each license shall expire on the '1st day of <br />January after the same issued and shall not be prorated. The fee herein established may <br />be changed, from time to time, by the City Council, by resolution, a copy of which shall <br />be on file and open for inspection at regular business hours in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />SECTION 4.Licenses shall be obtained by every person engaged in the following business es or <br />work in accordance with the applicable ordinances of the City of Centerville: <br /> <br />A. General contractors, including those involved in erection, alteration or repair of <br />structures. <br />B. Masonry, cement work, cement block work, block laying or brick work. <br />C. Heating and ventilating. <br />D. Roofing. <br />E. Plastering, stucco work and sheet rock taping. <br />F. Excavations, including excavation for footings, basements and grading of lots. <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
