<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY WORKSESSION MEETING <br />May 28, 2003 <br />6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Unapproved <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney called the Council Worksession to order at 6;00 p.m. Present <br />at the meeting were Councihnembers Broussard Vickers, Capra, Lee and Paar; <br />City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes, Public Works Director Paul Palzer and <br />Finance Director Ellen Paulseth. <br /> <br />II. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />The Finance Director presented copies of the Capitol hnprovement Plan (CIP) <br />as compiled by the former City Administrator, Jim March. She reported that <br />Staffis looking for Council's direction with regard to various projects as listed <br />in this CIP. <br /> <br />Water Tower. Council agreed that the water tower project needs to move <br />forward based on an agreement that the City has with the City of Lino Lakes. <br />The Public Works Director advised Council that the City Engineer is in the <br />process of getting soil borings from the Public Works site and Cedar Park to <br />determine which site would be more suitable for the construction of the new <br />water tower. Mr. Palzer indicated that Anoka County owns Cedar Park and <br />that if that site is of interest to the City, Staff could contact the County about <br />purchasing the site; he indicated that it may cost the City up to $30,000. <br /> <br />St. Paul Water Utility Property. Council asked for a status in the sale of St. <br />Paul Water Utility property. Staff reported that the sale may not happen until <br />2005. Council asked the City Administrator to call the Utility to see if they <br />have secured appraisals for this property. <br /> <br />Park Plan. Councilmember Lee advised the Council that he will bring the <br />Park Plan issue forward to the Park and Rec Commission at their meeting on <br />June 4th. Council also advised Staff that the Park Plan as presented by Wayne <br />LeBlanc has not been approved by Council and therefore is not the City's <br />plan. <br /> <br />Council continued to review the CIP project list. They discussed priority <br />projects such as streets, storm water drainage, and other water related issues. <br />The Council reviewed Staff's proposed CIP for budget year 2004. Staff will <br />present the Capitol hnprovement Plan 2004 budget to the Park and Rec <br />Commission for their consideration and comment. <br />
