CITY OF CENTERVILLE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its regular meeting on December 6, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. PRESENT: Chairperson Darrin Mosher Commissioner Thomas Wood Commissioner Eric Larson Commissioner Matthew Montain Commissioner James Flint ABSENT: Commissioner Russ Koski Commissioner Olaf Lee Council member D Love STAFF: Administrator Dallas Larson OTHERS PRESENT: None I. CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mosher. 1. Roll Call PUBLIC INPUT /HEARING None II. OLD BUSINESS. None III. NEW BUSINESS. The Commission reviewed a conditional use permit from Jessica Evers for a Kennel to be located on the property at 7055 21 Avenue. Ms. Evers was present. She indicated that she would initially use about 2/3 of the space in the building but hopes to expand into the entire property. Longer term she hopes to sell pet foods and supplies at retail and to have a veterinarian provide services on site. She was asked to bring a detailed plan showing the number of kennels in the building, so P &Z might know the capacity of the property. Motion by Commissioner Wood, seconded by Commissioner Larson to set a public hearing to consider the proposed conditional use permit to be held at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2012. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS The Commission was briefed on the status of the Metro Transit Park and Ride facility proposed for Lino Lakes on the Centerville easterly border. An engineering study of the needed road and utility improvements is underway. Discussion was held regarding snowmobile regulations comparing with Lino Lakes' rules. Some members liked the idea of matching most of Centerville's rules to Lino Lakes. It was Page 1 of 2
