CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its regular <br /> meeting on January 3, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: Chairperson Darrin Mosher <br /> Commissioner Thomas Wood <br /> Commissioner Russ Koski <br /> Commissioner Olaf Lee f <br /> Commissioner Matthew Montain <br /> 0 p --,T@W Commissioner James Flint <br /> � - <br /> ABSENT: Commissioner Eric Larson <br /> STAFF: Administrator Dallas Larson <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: Council member D Love <br /> CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mosher. <br /> 1. Roll Call <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING. Application withdrawn for the conditional use permit from <br /> Jessica Evers for a kennel to be located on the property at 7055 21 Avenue <br /> III. OLD BUSINESS. None <br /> IV. NEW BUSINESS. None <br /> V. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> 1) Snowmobile Regulations. Discussion was held regarding snowmobile regulations. <br /> Administrator Larson reported that he had met with administrators from Circle Pines, <br /> Lexington and Lino Lakes. Snowmobile regulations were discussed and all of the cities <br /> are willing to consider changes to their rules in and effort to coordinate with neighboring <br /> cities. Also, the matter was discussed with City Council and they are also willing to <br /> consider changes. <br /> It appears that Centerville has some of the most restrictive rules especially on the hours <br /> of use. The Commission agreed that some of the Centerville rules could be relaxed to <br /> better match neighboring cities. The major items include: allowing snowmobiles to come <br /> into and leave the city by the most direct route, even during the restricted hours; speed <br /> limit could be increased to 15 mph; prohibition of studs could be removed in favor of <br /> following whatever state law has on the subject; equipment rules could be removed in <br /> order to defer to what is in state law; Lino Lakes might be encouraged to defer to state <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
