Respondents who feel current recreational facilities do not meet their households needs were <br /> asked a follow -up query: <br /> What additional recreational facilities would you like to <br /> see the City offer its residents? <br /> Twenty-four percent want a "community center," while 15% urge more "trails," and 12 %, "more <br /> youth programs:" <br /> UNSURE 3% <br /> ICE RINK 6% <br /> SWIMMING POOL 9% <br /> TRAILS 15% <br /> DISC GOLF 3% <br /> COMMUNITY CENTER 24% <br /> TENNIS COURTS 6% <br /> YOUTH PROGRAMS 12% <br /> PARKS 3% <br /> BASKETBALL COURTS 9% <br /> SENIOR PROGRAMS 6% <br /> SOCCER FIELDS 3% <br /> Nine percent each hope for a "swimming pool" or "basketball courts." <br /> "Community Center" is posted at a higher rate by: <br /> • renters <br /> "Trails" is stated more frequently by: <br /> • those rating the sense of community identity negatively <br /> Summary and <br /> Conclusions <br /> o <br /> Over 65% of the residents in the community report household members use larger community <br /> parks, smaller community parks, and trails. Thirty-nine percent of the households use <br /> community ballfields. <br /> Eighty -four percent feel the existing recreational facilities offered by the City meet the needs of <br /> their household.
