1 • <br /> TO: Honorable Chairperson & Committee Members <br /> FROM: Staff <br /> SUBJECT: Volunteer Program — Park Monument Flower Beds <br /> DATE: March 30, 2012 <br /> I spoke with Ms. Cathy Trast, resident of Centerville, who has the Brownie troop that is <br /> interested in maintaining the Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park & Hidden Spring Park <br /> monument markers. <br /> Ms. Trast stated that she would be getting back to me within the next two weeks with a <br /> date of when the troop will be working on these markers. <br /> Ms. Trast stated that they first would remove dead debris from last year, review current <br /> plantings, select new plantings, select arrangement and determine needs from the City <br /> (mulch, woodchips, etc.). Ms. Trast stated that they may have an opportunity to have <br /> some plants or flowers donated by a local greenhouse; however, the troop would be <br /> providing $50 of there earned cookie sales money toward each monument marker flower <br /> bed. <br /> If any Committee Member would be available to either assist these girls or to stop by and <br /> thank them while they are working it was be very nice. <br /> I will keep the Committee abreast of their schedule. <br />
