CITY OF CENTERVILLE
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission held its regular
meeting on February 8, 2012, at 5:30 p.m.

PRESENT:
Chairperson Darrin Mosher

Commissioner Eric Larson
Commissioner Russ Koski
Commissioner Olaf Lee

ABSENT:
Commissioner Thomas Wood
Commissioner Matthew Montain
Commissioner James Flint

STAFF:
Administrator Dallas Larson

OTHERS PRESENT:
Council Member Love

I.CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mosher at 6:05 p.m.

II.PUBLIC HEARING - None

III.OLD BUSINESSNone
-

IV.NEW BUSINESS.

Proposed amendment to City Code Section 156.030, (L) Conditional Uses in
a.
Commercial B-1 Zoning District.
Staff had prepared a draft amendment to the
Code that would impose restrictions to conditional uses in the B-1 District, on the
amount of outside lot area that could be used for automotive sales lots, implement
sales lots and building supply sales and storage yards. The proposed restrictions
would limit the lot area used for outside sales lots relative to building size, to one
and one-half times the area of the building used for the related business, and would
limit outside building supply storage to not more than amount equal to building
space for the related business. The Commission directed that the building supply
storage be set at one and one-half times the building area to be consistent with the
first two uses. Off-street parking for these uses would also be modified.

The consensus was that the restriction related to abutting residential districts should
be removed. It was agreed that his issue could be addressed on a case by case basis,
in the conditions attached to the conditional use permit.

Motion by Commissioner Lee, seconded by Commissioner Mosher to set a public hearing to
consider the code amendments for 6:30 p.m. at the next monthly meeting. All in favor.
Motion carried unanimously.
