Moving forward I will provide you the
following attachment(s) via email and for inclusion in your monthly packets (previously I had only been
sending them to the board chair). I anticipate these will prompt some questions so if you would like
please email me individually with those and I will then collate all questions /answers and forward them
back to the group so we are not out of compliance with any open meeting laws.
Reserved Funds
Committed 2,500.00 Park and Rec - Volleyball Court ( Deadbroke)
Committed 250.00 Park and Rec - Volleyball Court (Centennial Youth Hockey)
Committed 714.08 Park and Rec - Concession Operation
Committed 2,037.71 Park and Rec - 8K Run proceeds
Committed 1,585.53 Park and Rec - Signs
Again, the amount of reserve funds is different than your annual budget as these funds are what have
been "earned" in prior years and have yet to be spent. The amount of funds committed can be
"rededicated" to other purposes through council action, ie, if the committee wanted to earmark the
$1,585.53 that is currently dedicated to signs and instead use it for the volleyball court a council resolution
rededicating the funds would be needed. Unfortunately, committed concession stand funds really need to
stay there as the concession stand runs at a deficit operationally and those funds are there to cushion
that. Also, the City anticipates receiving another $5,000 donation from Deadbroke for the construction of
the volleyball court. All that said, through some rededication of reserves and when the $5,000 is
received, the Committee could potentially have $11,373.24 to use towards the construction of the
volleyball courts.
Thanks,
Mike Jeziorski, Finance Director
City of Centerville
1880 Main Street
Centerville, MN 55038
651- 429 -3232
5/3/2012
