City of Centerville <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> October 3, 2012 <br /> Generally covers sporting, athletic and music concert events in the residential <br /> districts of the city. After review and discussion, a suggestion was made to add <br /> "racing events" in paragraph (B) (1). <br /> 9. Special Use Permit Application — Centerville Lions use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial <br /> Park Warming House for Haunted House on October 19, 20, 26 & 27, 2012. <br /> Motion was made by Chairperson Branch, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Amundsen to approve the presented application. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> 10. End E d of Year Budget Review — Allocation of Reserves for 2013. (Volleyball Court & <br /> Other Items) <br /> Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the best use of reserves for the upcoming <br /> � Y g 8 Y ear - <br /> including the following purchases: park benches for Eagle Park and Trailside Park; <br /> bulletin board for the exterior of the warming house, larger popcorn machine, etc. <br /> along with the construction of one (1) volleyball court. <br /> Finance Director Jeziorski provided the Committee with reserve amounts or <br /> previously committed funds from the 2011 8K Walk/Run Proceeds, $2,037.71; <br /> Donations, $7,750; Signage, $1,585.53; proceeds from the 2012 8K Walk/Run, <br /> $1,381.82; all totaling $12,755.06. Consensus of the Committee was to earmark all <br /> of existing reserves /committed funds and $1,000 of unspent funds from the 2012 <br /> Budget line item Park Programs and request that Council assist in obtaining their <br /> goal in 2013 by providing an additional $5,000 for a total of $16,755.06 allowing <br /> construction of one sand volleyball court. <br /> Motion was made by Chairperson Branch, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Haiden to commit the above stated funds ($11,755.06) and request assistance <br /> from Council ($5,000) totaling $16,755.06 for the construction of one (1) sand <br /> volleyball court at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park in 2013. All in favor. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Additional discussion was had regarding the necessity of irrigating either Hidden <br /> Spring Park or Cornerstone Park.
