The training is always superb and <br />networking with other agencies is so helpful in dealing with the issues we all at one time <br />. or another face. The topic of most conversation this session centered on budget cuts and <br />the possible merger of our agencY with Lino Lakes. Lexington's City Manager Mike <br />Delmont's son Michael, who is an officer with the Lindstrom Police Department, <br />received one of the many awards presented to officers for outstanding service to their <br />communities. COJ;1gratu1ations Mikel And I ~wou1d be remiss if I failed to mention that <br />Anoka County's .Columbia Heights Police Chief Tom Johnson was appointed president <br />for the upcoining y~, the l\i.lN Chief's of Police 50thl Congratulations Toml <br /> <br />Our congratulations as well to Sgt. Patrick Aldrich and Sgt, Todd Gleason sworn into <br />their new positions during the April Coinmission meeting. Sgt. Aldrich has elected to be <br />the night time supervisor and Sgt. Gleason is presently handling the afternoon. shift. <br /> <br />Officer 1ason Corlew attended a two day seminar on Police Crisis Intervention and the <br />Mentally m during April, Deputy Chief Makela assisted the Sheriff's Office "with their <br />Sgt. Oral board panel and due to the generosity of Blue Towing of Blaine, the Centerville <br />Elementary DARE stQ.dents in Investigator BIan~k~s classes were shown a DWI-~elated <br />crash car. . <br /> <br />Fifteen days of vacation, fourteen holidays and two camp days were taken off.during the <br />month and nine sick days ~ere used. April Reserve .Officer hours were not available at <br />the time of this report. ' <br /> <br />Meetings I attended included our regularly scheduled commission meeting, a <br />departmental meeting, Centennial Alternative Learning Center advisory board meetin& <br />Centennial Community Network, Anoka Chiefs, Circle Pines Council work session with <br />eso Noren on Circle .Pin~ junk vehicle ordinance, and two mat1~ement meetings with <br />the newly appointed Sergeants. <br /> <br />I, <br />
