Community Service Officer
Monthly Report for April 2003

In April the weather has begun to get nice and I have been getting several calls
from Neighborhood Crime Watch Group leaders in regards to the upcoming year. I have
also begun planning for National Night Out and Safety Camp. Deputy Chief Makela
attended the fir~t Safety Camp meeting on April 2nd.
This month I ~gerprinted several citizens at the Police Department for numerous
reasons and assisted persons in removing property from their forfeited vehicles from
Automedics. I have also delivered subpoenas for the Circle Pines and ~xington
attorneys. .
We also had several dog attack/dog bite situations this month and Chief Heckman
and I spent significant time completing follow up on these matters. .
Now that school is back in full swing after spring break I haye been spending
significant time around the schools in the afternoon when the kids are getting out of
school. I have also been completing walkthroughs of Centerville and Golden Lake
Elementaries several times a week. I have also been sp~ding a couple days a week
reading to classes at Golden Lake Elementary for ~ hom to 1 hour time periods.
Hopefully officers will be soon reading to classes at Centerville Elementary as well. This
is a good program to meet local kids and answer questions that they have.
This month I also handled calls assigned, been updating the business key holder
information list, handled several community action notices, have spent significant time
on enforcing the junk vehicle ord4tances and completing follow up on junk vehicle
ordinance violations, entered evidence and property, brought squad cars for scheduled
maintenance appointments, assisted officers with other miscellaneous calls and have been--
continuing my patrol of the area parks and beaches.

Respectfully submitted,

~.~ ;!:J3(f)O
CSO Noren

37
