CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> December 12, 2012 <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly <br /> scheduled meeting of December 12, 2012, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher <br /> Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member D. Love <br /> Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> ABSENT: None U. <br /> STAFF: City Administrator Dallas Larson <br /> City Engineer Mark Statz <br /> Legal Counsel Kurt Glaser <br /> Finance Director Mike Jeziorski <br /> Public Works Director Paul Palzer <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC INPUT <br /> 1. 2013 Budget & Tax Levies <br /> Finance Director Jeziorski reviewed the timeline, 2012 projected end of year General <br /> Fund balance ($1,110,324) which meets the required 40 -50% of the 2013 Budget <br /> expenditures (53 %), levy tax rates, tax capacity components, tax rate trends and <br /> enterprise funds (sewer, water and storm water rates with slight rate adjustments which <br /> include fixed and variable components for both residential and commercial customers) <br /> with Council. Director Jeziorski stated that he anticipates a surplus of $68,674 for 2012, <br /> of which $18,700 is committed to the construction of a sand volleyball court at Laurie <br /> LaMotte Memorial Park. Director Jeziorski stated that nothing within the 2013 Budget <br /> has been modified since Council last reviewed it several weeks prior. Director Jeziorski <br /> stated that the City's levy amount has remained stable over the last three (3) years. <br /> Council Member King stated that his property taxes increased due to slight improvement <br /> to his residential property and request that Director Jeziorski explain why when property <br /> taxes values decrease property owners don't realize that same decrease in their taxes. <br /> I <br /> 1 <br />
