Placement of Recycling Collection Container Per Request of City of Lino Lakes <br /> Administrator Larson stated that previously it was discussed that the City of Lino Lakes <br /> desired to place a recycling collection trailer in the fire hall parking lot in an attempt to <br /> achieve funding for their planned construction of a park near the corner of Centerville <br /> Road and Birch Street. Both cities felt that the park would be utilized by their respective <br /> residents. Administrator Larson stated that initially the request was discussed through the <br /> Centennial Fire District Steering Committee. <br /> Discussion was had regarding a written agreement responsibility for disposal of <br /> inappropriate material(s), length of time of placement, Centerville's desire to offer the <br /> same type of recycling opportunity, reciprocating offerings, recycling reporting and <br /> signage. <br /> Motion was made by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member <br /> Paar to approve the placement of a recycling collection trailer in the fire hall <br /> parking lot for a period of one year with the City of Lino Lakes being responsible <br /> for disposal of inappropriate materials discarded at the same location and the City <br /> of Centerville receiving tonnage credit for items recycled. Council Member King <br /> opposed. Motion passed. <br /> 8. Recycling Incentive for 2012 <br /> Administrator Larson explained that SCORE (Select Committee on Recycling and the <br /> Environment) funds are obtained from haulers and the City is allotted an amount to foster <br /> recycling through programs and education. In the past, if any amount is unspent, those <br /> dollars have been returned to customers through a billing credit by the hauler. The <br /> amount is higher than the past, primarily due to savings provided for Cleanup/Recycling <br /> day. Staff is requesting that the hauler provide to residents a recycling incentive of <br /> approximately $10,000 if approved by Anoka County. <br /> Motion was made by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to <br /> authorize the Recycling Incentive for 2012 in the amount of approximately $10,000 <br /> subiect to Anoka County's approval. All in favor. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> 9. Economic Development Project <br /> Administrator Larson reported that he has been continuing to work with a firm to <br /> construct a 20,000 square foot building or larger within the industrial park along Fairview <br /> Street, and has offered incentives agreed to by the Council at a closed meeting earlier this <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br /> 6 <br />
