I received this note from Tom Lee this morning, so we missed last night's meeting. The two points to take away from this exchange are: 1) Park and Rec, under Tom's leadership, is responsible for the Fete de Lacs Friday night music event. The Lions will not have a band that night, but will run their beer tent. Proceeds from the beer tent will go to the Lions. 2) at the P &R May meeting we will discuss the Committees financial backing of the Jam session. Committee members should not reply to this note. Please hold comments until the May meeting. No worries, just need to keep the belt cinched. Six of the eight days are booked and confirmed, there are a few options for the remaining two days, not counting playing myself, just waiting to see how things shake out. I'm looking at maybe having a 40 piece brass band for one of them, but we'd need to set them up at Lamotte..... among other challenges. $500 would be more than enough for the JAM, still looking at FREE entertainment, just wanted to know what options I might have. I haven't made any arrangements at all for the JAM yet, just got word from the Lions yesterday that the Friday night would be open so.... I guess I better get busy, time is short. Thomas A.
