VI. UPDATES 1. Council Updates — Council Member Steve King 2. Recap of Festival of the Lakes 8K/5K/kids run /walk events Race Coordinator Branch updated the Committee by stating that there were 168 registered runners and 156 finishers; the kids run drew 64 runners and the new 5K drew 84 runners /walkers. Income from sponsors and registration fees totaled $4,195 with expenses to date being $1,795. Race Coordinator Branch stated that all contributions from sponsors had yet to be received and several expenditures were still outstanding. He felt that the expected net revenue would be between $2,200 - $2,400. 3. Recap of Music in the Park Mr. Tom Lee was not present at the meeting. 4. Volleyball Courts — see #6 under Committee Business On -going Items: 1. Research Projects (Park Benches) Chairperson Branch has been researching the types and costs of park benches and found they range in price from $200 up to around $800 each. Discussion ensued regarding the type(s) of bases that the different bench styles may require. Three (3) benches are needed; however, with specific styles, a quantity price break could be obtained. Continued research will be completed by both Chairperson Branch and Public Works Director Palzer with a proposal being available for the September meeting. VII. ACTION ITEMS REVIEW Items that have been completed will be removed; some are still open and additional items discussed at this meeting will be added. A revised Action Item List, as of August 7, 2013 meeting will be included with the minutes to be approved.
