2.6.1 Voting Each committee member present at the meeting other than ex officio <br /> administrative staff members shall be entitled on one vote. Unless otherwise <br /> provided in the agreement the committee may take the action on any issue by <br /> a 51 percent of greater vote of those members present and entitled to vote at a <br /> duly called meeting, subject to the quorum requirement of section 2.5. <br /> [However, passage of a motion shall require an affirmative vote from at least <br /> bne member of each member city.] - --- comment[dl]: This is the amendment requested <br /> r <br /> l b Lin Lakes. <br /> Alternative Language <br /> 2.6.2 Notwithstanding Section 2.6.1, the committee may not take action if two <br /> members from any one city ote against the following motions: <br /> a. A motion to approve the annual budget with an increase of <br /> more than 5 %. <br /> b. A motion to implement advanced life support ambulance <br /> service. <br /> c. A motion to spend down more than 20% of fund balance where <br /> the use of fund balance has not been approved in the annual <br /> budget. <br /> d. A motion to increase full -time staff to more than six positions. <br /> The Provisions of section 2.6.2 shall not apply to any City that has withdrawn. <br /> 2.6.3 In the absence of the designated elected committee official, the designated <br /> elected official alternate of that municipality shall become a voting member of <br /> the committee. <br /> There shall be no voting by proxy. Votes must be cast at a committee meeting <br /> by a committee member. <br /> Administrative staff approval of payment of bills as in section 2.3 shall <br /> require unanimous agreement. <br /> 47 <br />
