Citizen Participation <br /> Anoka County worked is currently working with regulatory agencies and local units of <br /> government in the master planning process of this trail. In addition, an open house is <br /> scheduled for March 25, 2014 to receive public comment on the proposed plan. A notice <br /> advertising the open house will be published in the local weekly newspaper and on the <br /> Anoka County website. Post card invitations will also be mailed out to adjacent residents <br /> and local city and county officials. <br /> Comments received from the public and the local and regulatory agencies will be _ <br /> incorporated into this master plan. <br /> 1 <br /> Refer to Appendix for the public notices, letters requesting comments, comments <br /> received from the public and from the municipal and regulatory agencies that responded. <br /> Public Awareness •' <br /> Public awareness is an important component to regional park and trail systems. The <br /> County will provide public education efforts through the Metropolitan Council's regional- •' <br /> wide awareness program, as well as, public information maps, websites <br /> ( www.anokacountyparks.com & www.anoka_county-.us), social media, publications and <br /> brochures provided by Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department. , <br /> Accessibility <br /> Anoka County continually strives to provide j <br /> equal access to all residents of Anoka County <br /> and the region. Park and trail use is open to <br /> any and all citizens. While there is a nominal 1 -� <br /> parking fee in some of the regional parks, 285 <br /> there is not a fee for trail use. This eliminates i 275 <br /> any economic barriers for trail users. A <br /> portion of the trail corridor is located along <br /> the 275 and 285 transit routes, with three park <br /> and ride lots along the trail corridor. See <br /> Figure x for map of transit access. In addition, <br /> the Anoka County Traveler Transit Link and <br /> Metro Transit's Mobility Link provide <br /> transportation services for a minimal fee.
