Citizen Participation Anoka County worked is currently working with regulatory agencies and local units of government in the master planning process of this trail. In addition, an open house is scheduled for March 25, 2014 to receive public comment on the proposed plan. A notice advertising the open house will be published in the local weekly newspaper and on the Anoka County website. Post card invitations will also be mailed out to adjacent residents and local city and county officials. Comments received from the public and the local and regulatory agencies will be incorporated into this master plan. Refer to Appendix for the public notices, letters requesting comments, comments received from the public and from the municipal and regulatory agencies that responded. Public Awareness Public awareness is an important component to regional park and trail systems. The County will provide public education efforts through the Metropolitan Council’s regional- wide awareness program, as well as, public information maps, websites (www.anokacountyparks.com & www.anokacounty.us), social media, publications and brochures provided by Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department. Accessibility Anoka County continually strives to provide equal access to all residents of Anoka County and the region. Park and trail use is open to any and all citizens. While there is a nominal parking fee in some of the regional parks, there is not a fee for trail use. This eliminates any economic barriers for trail users. A portion of the trail corridor is located along the 275 and 285 transit routes, with three park and ride lots along the trail corridor. See Figure x for map of transit access. In addition, the Anoka County Traveler Transit Link and 14 Metro Transit’s Mobility Link provide transportation services for a minimal fee. This
