Teresa Bender
From: Pat Branch
Sent: Sunday, September 07, 2014 2:38 PM
To: Tom Wilharber; Steve King; Jeff Paar; Ben Fehrenbacher; D Love
Cc: Dallas Larson;Teresa Bender, Kris Sweeney; Paul Palzer; Linda Neudecker
(neunecho@aol.com);Jon Grahek; Kevin Amundsen; Kevin Waeghe; christopher
Bettinger; Brian Peterson; Suzanne Seeley; Debra Neutkens; Debra C. Barnes
Subject: P&R Membership
Mayor Wilharber and Council Members,
Please accept my resignation from the Centerville Parks and Recreation Committee effective October 4,2014.
At the September meeting, pending Council approval, the Committee elected Jon Grahek as the new chairperson and
Kevin Waeghe as vice-chairperson.
I have throughly enjoyed being on the committee for the past seven years and it's chairperson for the past five
years. However, seven years is enough. It is time to find other areas to serve the community.
Within a consistently low budget, the Committee has continued it's traditional winter skating parties and has
added the music/ movie in the park programs and the Festival of the Lakes 5K and 8K runs. With user participation fees
from the six annual Festival of the Lakes runs and generous donations from Dead Broke Saddle Club and the Centerville
Lions club the Committee has made slow but steady improvements to Centerville parks. We have purchased equipment
necessary for the music in the parks program, added a sand volleyball court in LaMotte park and park benches in three
Centerville parks.
While not the sole source of funding, the annual runs have been a significant and consistent source of revenue
for park improvements. As a volunteer,to the Parks and Recreation Committee, I will continue as the race coordinator.
Respectfully Yours
Patrick Branch
