City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> January 28,2015 <br /> Engineer Statz stated that Council had directed him to review the amendment and Standard <br /> Operating Procedures, he had and believes that they are suitable for the City to amend and <br /> operate under. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to approve Ord <br /> #70, Second Series — Amending City Code Chapter 157, Stormwater Management, <br /> Summary & Standard Operating Procedures as presented. Council Member King <br /> abstained. Motion passed. <br /> 2. Discussion on Economic Development Authority/Committee "Tabled from previous <br /> meeting* <br /> Administrator Ericson stated that Council may desire to review the current structure of its <br /> Economic Develop Authority (EDA) versus having an Economic Development Committee as in <br /> years past. Administrator Ericson stated this would guide him in obtaining his goals set by <br /> Council for economic growth and retention. Council felt strongly that retaining businesses and <br /> gaining businesses was a high priority along with decreasing taxes and increasing the business <br /> community's involvement. <br /> Consensus of the Council was that this item would be discussed at the Council Work Session. <br /> 3. Schedule City Council Goal Setting Session "Tabled from previous meeting" <br /> Administrator Ericson stated that in the past, Council has scheduled several Work Sessions <br /> immediately following their regular Council meeting to discuss Goals for the upcoming year and <br /> desired to obtain direction on how to complete this task. <br /> Council stated that they would prefer to meet at least once prior to having a Joint Work Session <br /> with Committee/Commissions and scheduled them for February 11, 2015 (Council only) and <br /> February 25, 2015 immediately following their regularly scheduled meetings. <br /> Lengthy discussion was had regarding informing the public about improvement projects through <br /> newsletters, etc. Administrator Ericson stated that even though Centerville is a smaller <br /> community there are plenty of avenues for saving money and obtaining goals (interns, etc.). <br /> 4. CSAH21 Update—Engineer Statz <br /> Engineer Statz stated that he and Staff had recently met with representatives from Anoka County <br /> Highway Department and obtained a winter update on moving power lines, telephone poles, gas <br /> lines, etc. Engineer Statz also stated that work will commence on in the spring on the sanitary <br /> sewer and water lines. Engineer Statz stated that it is anticipated that all the road work will be <br /> completed by the end of July, 2015. Engineer Statz again emphasized safety during the road <br /> project is of the utmost and the roadway again will be closed to through traffic during this <br /> construction. <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> P4 <br />
