City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 14, 2015 <br />d. Northeast Metro Water Summit – Administrator Ericson stated that the Council has been <br /> invited by the Mayor of the City of Hugo to attend this meeting scheduled for January 29, <br /> 2015, it becoming a monthly agenda item for updates and its importance to all <br /> communities affected by the DNR/White Bear Lake water level issues. <br /> <br />e. Correspondence – Quad Press – Mr. Carter Johnson, Press Publications, was present and <br /> stated that the local paper is available on line, appreciates the City’s legal newspaper <br /> appointment and work diligently to cover local news accurately and timely. <br /> <br />f. Advertisements for Bid – 2015 Mill & Overlay Project – Administrator Ericson stated <br /> that bids will be opened on February 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br /> <br />g. Closed Session for Litigation Discussion January 28, 2015 Meeting (Sheehy & Kelly) – <br /> Administrator Ericson stated that this item was informational only. <br /> <br />h. City Purchase of St. Paul Regional Water Property – Signed Documents & Will be <br /> Recorded by them – Administrator Ericson stated that he had signed the documents and <br /> they will be record by St. Paul Regional Water. Administrator Ericson stated that the <br /> property is located along the lake abutting the property that the City owns – Trailside <br /> Park and a section north of that location along the lake. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that he had attended the January 10, 2015 P & R Skate Night and <br />the Committee members and hockey rink attendance were a great group. Administrator Ericson <br />also stated that the Public Works staff did a wonderful job with the ice. <br /> <br />Council Member King stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee would like their allotment <br />for 2015 which would assist them in goal setting. <br /> <br />Council Member Love stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission did not meet in January so <br />he had nothing to report. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Paar stated that the Centennial Fire Steering meeting would be taking place the <br />following Thursday. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Paar stated that he believed that the Administrator’s update memorandum to <br />Council is more concise and easily understood. Acting Mayor Paar also stated that <br />Administrator Ericson has hit the ground running with both feet and is convinced that Council <br />made the right decision on his employment. Acting Mayor Paar reported that Council Member <br />King recently was CenterMart’s gas winner. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Paar stated that he and Council appreciates the patience of residents during the <br />Centerville reconstruction project this fall and hopes that they can again withstand construction <br />in the spring to finish the project. Acting Mayor Paar stated that the majority of the City Staff <br />has been with the City in excess of 15 years, the fire department and police department are the <br />majority of the budget and are efficient and capable and wish the Mayor and his wife a speedy <br />recovery from their illnesses. <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
