• City Council and staff are OK with City taking ownership and maintenance responsibilities for the new <br /> culvert, once installed. <br /> • Although the rider cannot be approved until March 10th, at the board meeting, if we had draft rider <br /> and both staffs could give their endorsement, you may be able to get manager approval to do the <br /> work on the water main (removing it for us to get in and do our work) prior to that date (maybe by <br /> March 1 or so). <br /> • Your crews would do the digging to remove your main. <br /> • Your crews would backfill your main. We need to be cautious with the type of backfill used,since this <br /> area acts as a dam. Backfill which is too sandy, could allow the water to seep through and eventually <br /> wash out. <br /> • No permit will be necessary to begin our work. However, you will need to see the contractor's <br /> certificate of insurance to make sure they are adequately covered. Also, you would like a revised <br /> drawing showing our new culvert design in relation to your main, and your property lines, etc. <br /> Again, thanks for keeping the lines of communication open. Would you be the person to talk to regarding day <br /> to day construction scheduling? Or is there a foreman or superintendent we should be in contact with to work <br /> out the details of coordination?
