4. Centerville Lions 32"d Annual Fishing Contest—Lynn Johnson Memorial <br /> This event will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 11:00 am to 2:00 <br /> p.m. on Centerville Lake by the Anoka County Rice Creek Chain of Lakes beach. <br /> The Lions are looking for additional volunteers to help with this event. <br /> VI. UPDATES <br /> 1. Council Updates—Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member King reported that Council has scheduled a Joint Work Session <br /> with Committee/Commission Members on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at <br /> approximately 7:00 p.m. to discussion 2015 goals. <br /> Council Member Steve King reported that Council recently appointed him to the <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council and that he attended a recent Northeast <br /> Metro Groundwater Management meeting sponsored by the DNR. Council <br /> Member King stated that he obtained a copy of the Area Plan. <br /> 2. Skate Nights/Bonfire <br /> Saturday,January 10, 2015—members of the committee reported that the event <br /> was well attended with approximately 100 individuals participating. <br /> Saturday, February 7, 2015 —members of the committee reported that the event <br /> will be held in conjunction with the hayride, bonfire, refreshments, popcorn and <br /> hot cocoa. Committee Member Peterson inventoried the supplies and would <br /> purchase additional items if needed prior to the event. It was anticipated that the <br /> temperatures for the event would be in the high 20's/low 30's. <br /> The committee reported that The Citizen has publicized an article regarding the <br /> event and information has been included in the school's Friday Flash at the end of <br /> January. Committee Members noticed that the event information had been posted <br /> on the reader board in front of City Hall and volunteers would be posting flyers at <br /> various locations. <br /> Committee Member Grahek will obtain a check from Staff for same day payment <br /> for the Bunker Hills Stables (hayride). Committee Member Amundsen will <br /> coordinate with Mr. Tom Lee to pick up pallets to be used for the bonfire. <br /> It was discussed to contact the Citizen or another person to take photos of this <br /> event, as well as contacting North Metro TV to film it. Possibly these forms of <br /> promotion could be used during the Music in the Park events. <br /> 3 <br />
