STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> RES. #15-0 <br /> JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITIES OF CENTERVILLE AND CIRCLE PINES IN <br /> SUPPORT OF THE FUTURE CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br /> WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District was established in 1985 to provide fire service to <br /> the cities of Centerville, Circle Pines and Lino Lakes, and <br /> WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District continues to provide an essential community-based <br /> service, and <br /> WHEREAS, Centennial Fire District provides high levels of fire and rescue services, <br /> protecting property and life in our cities, and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 30, 2016, Lino Lakes will withdraw from the fire district, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is important to affirm the continued dedication and professionalism of <br /> Centennial Fire District firefighters, and <br /> WHEREAS,the cities of Centerville and Circle Pines pledge to keep the Centennial Fire <br /> District intact as continuing members of the district, and <br /> WHEREAS,the cities of Centerville and Circle Pines have a like vision for the future of <br /> the Centennial Fire District, and <br /> WHEREAS, a preliminary budget for 2016 has been prepared. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Centerville, <br /> Minnesota, as follows: <br /> 1. The City Council hereby affirms its commitment to remain part of Centennial Fire <br /> District. <br /> 2. The City Council commits to the additional $100,000 it will take to continue to fund <br /> the Centennial Fire District operations. <br /> 3. The City Council affirms its financial support of- <br /> - <br /> f- Centennial Fire District volunteers and their pension <br /> - Providing sufficient funds to continue the high level of training and professionalism <br /> - Funding EMT level rescue response <br /> - Funding two full-time staff <br /> - Funding high quality fire prevention and suppression <br /> - Providing quality training to outside organizations <br />
