City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 11, 2015 <br /> <br />a.City of Lino Lakes Correspondence – Administrator Ericson stated that the City <br />is in receipt of a letter stating Lino Lake’s intent to implement their own fire <br />services as of January 1, 2016. Legal Counsel Glaser reviewed the amended Joint <br />Powers Agreement that was approved previously and at the request of the City of <br />Lino Lakes which stated that they desired to stay with the Fire District until <br />January 30, 2016 rather than their current requested date. Legal Counsel Glaser <br />stated that in 2016 the City of Lino Lakes may have several new members on the <br />Council due to elections who may be unfamiliar with the previous Council’s <br />departure, may not desire that departure and may desire to remain with the current <br />amended JPA or enter discussions to negotiate staying with the Centennial Fire <br />District. Council Member Paar stated that the Fire Steering Committee would be <br />holding a Special Meeting on February 26, 2015 to discuss the matter more <br />indepth. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member <br />Fehrenbacher to forward a letter to the City of Lino Lakes stating that the <br />City has received their letter of intent and will not consider the request until <br />subsequent to the Fire Steering Committee Special Meeting on February 26, <br />2015. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />b.League of MN Cities Legislative Conference – Administrator Ericson reported that he <br />would be attending the conference on March 4, 2015 and March 5, 2015 and that <br />Staff would be happy to register any Council Member that desired to attend. Mayor <br />Wilharber requested that Administrator Ericson bring back information to the Council <br />from the sessions. <br /> <br /> <br />c.Engineer Statz informed Council that he and staff recently had a meeting with <br />representatives from Metropolitan Council and Anoka County regarding the <br />replacement of the force main, concerns of the County completing the work on behalf <br />of the Metropolitan Council and both of them entering into a Joint Powers Agreement <br />for the work. <br /> <br /> <br />d.Engineer Statz stated that discussions with the St. Paul Regional Water Commission <br />continue regarding the replacement of their pipe, their willingness to complete the <br />work but their concern for routine maintenance of the culvert, ditch, etc. Engineer <br />Statz stated that St. Paul Regional Water is currently drafting an agreement for this <br />item and upon its completion it would be forwarded to Legal Counsel and Council for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />e.Council Member King stated that he attended his first meeting of the Anoka County <br />Fire Protection Council and was extremely impressed with the elected officials and <br />Fire Chiefs that were active and in participation. Council Member King stated that <br />the meeting involved housekeeping items, explanations of the purpose of the group, <br />Committee reporting, radio training, hazardous materials, funding, training and <br />Centerville’s cost of twenty-five cents (.25) per person.
