City of Centerville <br /> Parks&Recreation Committee <br /> April 1,2015 <br /> Council Member Steve King presented a copy of the 2015 City Focus Goals of <br /> which the Parks and Recreation goals were as listed: <br /> a. Identify and completed missing trail links (July 30); <br /> b. Repairs and updates to Hockey Rink Fencing(June 1); <br /> C. Identify Funding sources such as grants and donations (November 1); <br /> d. Park Dedication Fees—review fee schedule and align with code(Sept. 30) <br /> The Improvement Projects on the P &R 5 year plan are as follows: <br /> a. Basketball Court; <br /> b. Irrigation systems in Hidden Spring, Acorn Creek, Cornerstone& <br /> McBride Parks; <br /> C. Drinking fountains in LaMotte,Acorn and McBride Parks <br /> d. Electrical Improvements in LaMotte Park <br /> These projects were reviewed and Public Works Director Palzer was asked to <br /> check into the cost of a drinking fountain at the warming house. <br /> 5. Parks Spring Clean up <br /> The committee members will evaluate the needs for each park. A tentative date <br /> of April 11, 2015 at 9:00 am was set with a rain date of April 18, 2015. <br /> 6. Recognition Plaques for Donors <br /> Previously the committee members had talked to the Lions about placing a plaque <br /> on one of the park benches. This needs to be followed up. <br /> VI. UPDATES <br /> 1. Council Updates—Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member Steve King spoke with Heidi from North Metro TV and will <br /> provide her with a list of upcoming Park and Recreation events for them to record <br /> some of them for future presentations on the local TV. <br /> 2. Music in the Park <br /> Mr. Tom Lee has secured three additional bands for this event. In addition,he <br /> plans to do some additional marketing of his own for this event. The committee <br /> discussed various types of signage: i.e. larger reusable signs,banners, sandwich <br /> board, laminate, etc. <br /> 3. Purchase of St. Paul Regional Water Property(abutting Trailside Park) <br /> In March,the City purchased the above mentioned property in the amount of <br /> $7,500. The City will receive$2,500.00 from the Water Ski Club in September. <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br />
