City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />April 1, 2015 <br /> <br />a.Wu Long Karate, LLC has requested the use of LaMotte Park on Saturday, <br />June 6, 2015 from 8am until 12 Noon for a “Bootcamp”. The committee <br />noted there was not a copy of insurance included with his request form nor <br />was a rain date indicated. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Cub Scouts have requested the use of LaMotte Park on Saturday June 6, 2015 <br />from 8:00am until 12 Noon for their annual Rocket Launch and family picnic. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Reinhardt, seconded by Committee <br />Member Waeghe to have Ms Teresa Bender write a letter to the Cub Scouts <br />indicating they may use Fields 1 and 2 plus the Pavillion at Hidden Springs <br />Park and also request the application be amended to include a rain date and <br />a second letter to Wu Long Karate requesting a copy of insurance and a rain <br />date, if applicable. Both letters should include information about the road <br />construction and alternate routes. The committee recommends to the City <br />Council that both applications be approved. All in Favor with the exception <br />of Committee Member Peterson who abstained from voting. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />c.The Centennial Youth Football Association has requested the use of the open <br />fields by the parking lot at LaMotte Park for Flag Football on Tuesday and <br />Thursday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm <br />from August 11, 2015 through September 26, 2015. This item was tabled <br />pending further information on the coordination of all the youth organizations <br />requests for the same areas. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Centennial High School Baseball <br /> <br />An application has been received from the Centennial High School Baseball <br />Boosters for the CHS Diamond in the Rough: 5k & 10k Run/Walk to benefit the <br />Centennial High School Baseball Program. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee <br />Member Bettinger to recommend to the City Council to approve this <br />application. All in Favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />3.BikeMN – Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota <br /> <br />st <br />Information was received regarding April 1 is National Walking Day and the <br />kick off to 30 days of Biking – a challenge to walk and/or bicycle during the <br /> <br />month of April. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Park Improvements to be prioritized <br /> <br />Council Member Steve King presented a copy of the 2015 City Focus Goals of <br />which the Parks and Recreation goals were as listed: <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
