STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> Res.#15-013 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE <br /> INTERSTATE 35/TRUNK HIGHWAY 97 BRIDGE AND CSAH 32 RAMPS <br /> WHEREAS, the Interstate 35 ("I-35") and Trunk Highway 97 ("TH 97") interchange <br /> (The "Interchange") provides critical access to the City of Forest Lake and City of <br /> Columbus, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Interchange is an outdate two-lane bridge over I-35, which has long <br /> suffered from deferred maintenance and is insufficient to meet even the region's existing <br /> needs, let along future needs, and <br /> WHEREAS, with the significant growth over the next decade projected in Forest Lake <br /> and Columbus the interchange needs to operate at a higher level of service, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Centerville supports the Cities of Forest Lake and Columbus in <br /> their commitment to continued cooperation with the Minnesota Department of <br /> Transportation, Anoka County and the surrounding communities in proceeding to the <br /> design phase of the Interchange, and <br /> WHEREAS, ramps at CSAH 32 would also enhance local access and serve to mitigate <br /> traffic issues at the Highway 97 and 1-35, and <br /> WHEREAS, MN House File 351 and MN Senate File 248 seeks as $25,000,000 <br /> appropriation from bonding proceeds to provide a transportation grant to Anoka County <br /> for the project. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Centerville does <br /> hereby support the design and construction of a replacement bridge at the intersection of <br /> 1-35 and TH 97 providing improvement that will meet future demand needs when <br /> construction is completed. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Centerville <br /> encourages its legislators to support and advocate for MN House File 315 and MN Senate <br /> File 248, and <br />
