THE RESULT WAS 'THi:: SAME, AND UPON REACHING THE AREA OF THE WATER TOWER MY PATROL VEHICLE <br />3LlD OFF THE PATH TO THE WEST A.ND CAME VERY CLOSE TO THE SUPPORT LEGS OF THE WATER TOWER. . <br /> <br />\...T THIS TIME !TWAS OBVIOUS THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BACK DOWN THE P,A.TH AND WOULD HAVE TO PIJLL <br />)NTO THE GRASS TO TURN ,A.ROUND AND DRIVE FORWARD PAST THE TROUBLE SPOT, 1 THEN PULLED ON'fO THE <br />';Ri.\.SS AND STOPPED TO REVERSE AND PULL FORWARD IN A SOIJTHBOUND DIRECTION. WHEN 1 STOPPED THE <br />IEHICLE TIRES SUNK INTO THE SOFT GRASS AND MUD.l WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE PATROL VEHICLE QUi" OF THE <br />~RASS, 1 CONTACTED CHIEF HECKMAN AND INFORMED HIM I WAS STUCK IN MCBRIDE PARK AND WOULD REQUIRE <br />I. TOW TRUCK TO GET OUT. J THEN ORDERED A A.UTO-MEDICS TOW FROM DISPATCH. <br /> <br />~UTO.MEDICS 'TOW ARRIVED AND I INFORMED THE JOW TRUCK DRIVER WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND POINTED OUT <br />rHE SPOT WHERE I COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE PAST WITHOUT IT SLIDING OFF THE PATH. THE TOW DRIVER <br />I..SSESSED THE SITUATION AND INFORMED ME THAT HIS TOW TRUCK 1S A 4-WEEL DRIVE WITH DUEL TIRES IN THE <br />~EAR AND WOULD BE ABLE TO EASILY t3ACK TO MY PATROL VEHICLE AND PULL IT OUT. THE TOW DRIVE DID TELL <br />tilE iHAT HE PUT HIS TRUCK IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE JUST TO BE SAFE. <br /> <br />rHE TOW DRIVER THEN BACKED NORTH ON THE PATH AND WINCED MY P.A.TROL VEHICLE BACK ONTO THE PAveD <br />~ATH. 'THE TOW DRNER ADVISED THAT HE WOULD TOW MYV~HICLE ALL THE WAY TO THE STREET SO I WOULD <br />~OT REPEAT THE SAME PROBLEM THA"i RESULTED IN THE CURRENT SITUAT10N. AS THE TOW TRUCK REACHED <br />rHE POINT WHERE I WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS UNDER THE WATER TOWER IT Al.SO SLID TO THE WEST AND <br />)FF THE PATH. THE TOW TRUCK THEN BECAME STUCK IN THE SOFT MUD NEX'fTO THE PAVED DRIVE. THE TOW <br />JRIVER UNHOOKED MY PATROL VEHICLE AND SPENT APPROXIMATELY A HALF HOUR GETTING. THE TOW TRUCK <br />JNS"TUCK. A LOCAL RESIDENT ASSISTED THE TOW DRIVER BY PROVIDING 4x4 WOOD BEAMS AND A FLOOR JACK. <br /> <br />)NCE THE TOW TRUCK WAS UNSTUCK THE: DRIVER CLeARED THE PATH OF SNOW AND f WAS ABLE TO <br />>UCCESSFULL Y BACK SOUTHBOUND DOWN THE PA'fH' WITHOUT fURTHER INCIDENT. PATROL VEHICLE CL-4 IS <br />:QUIPPED WITH SNOW TIRES ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. <br /> <br />:RE WAS NO APPAREN'f DAMAGE TO THE PATROL VEHICLE. THE RiGHT REAR TIRE WAS LOW ON AIR AFTER THE <br />DENT. 1 REFILLED THE T!RE WITH AIR AND IT APPEARED TO HOLD TliE AIR. I ADVISED THE NEXT SHJFT OF THE <br />,1"E AND TO CHECK IT. i WAS ADVISED AT THE TIME OF THIS REPORT TH.A.T THE TIRE WAS FLAT AS THE SE.e..L HAD <br />~EEN BROKEN DURING THE INCIDENT.
