Check Out The Hilll-Sled Safe <br /> Emergency Response Checklist <br /> What to do if an Incident Occurs? <br /> This list and the accompanying Injury Record,see page 34,should be part of <br /> the documentation at the sliding facility or area and part of a training program for <br /> staff,supervisors and volunteers. ; <br /> Immediately <br /> 1. Determine whether anyone with medical training is present. <br /> 2. Close that portion of the hill or entire hill,until the injured <br /> party is removed and any hazard is removed. <br /> 3. Determine whether emergency medical services are required; <br /> if so,call emergency services. <br /> 4. If the injured party is unconscious,only someone with med- <br /> ical training should help position the injured party so they do <br /> not choke. If no help is available,make sure their air passage <br /> is clear and apply pressure to any severe bleeding. Otherwise <br /> do not attempt to move the individual. Cover the person to <br /> keep them warm. Stay with the person until emergency ser- <br /> vices arrive. <br /> 5. Find out if the injured party was sliding with a family mem- <br /> ber or friend who can give you the person's name,address <br /> and phone number. i <br /> 6. If the injured party is conscious,make sure their air passage is <br /> clear and apply pressure to any severe bleeding. Otherwise <br /> do not attempt to move the individual.
