PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT , PARTICIPATION Public Engagement and Participation Figure 17,illustrates the population racial density by census tract for the service area of the trail and reached out to those communities for comment on the master plan. The County conducted a public comment period,published the master plan on the County website,sought input on the plan at the Anoka County Fair and attended local community events to receive public input. For the public comment period,the plan was posted on the County website and post card invitations were sent to residents along the trail corridor. To reach out further,a notice advertising the comment period was published in the Record,the legal newspaper of Anoka County,as well as another county-wide local newspaper. The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department worked with the local units of government as well as the Anoka County Transportation Division,which includes the Highway Department,the Transit Department,as wells as Commute Solutions,the transportation management organization within the County,in the planning process of this trail master plan.
